Angels - What are they and do they exist?
It is interesting to note that many religions refer to spiritual beings that fit into the description of the stereotypical angel. It is generally believed that an angel is a divine supernatural entity that acts as messenger on behalf of God. Angels have a role in many religions, including Buddhism where they are referred to as divas.
Angels and the Christian Faith
In the Christian faith it is believed that the angel world is made of a three tier hierarchy of celestial spiritual beings:
First Sphere - The first sphere of angels, Seraphim, Cherubim and Thrones act as heavenly councilors.
Second Sphere - The second sphere of angels, Dominions, Virtues and Powers work as heavenly governors.
Third Sphere - The third sphere of angels, Principalities, Archangels and Angels work as heavenly messengers.
Angels and Astrology
It is hard to believe that their could be much of a connection between Astrology and Angels but according to one belief, the Rosicrucian Order, each Angel Hierarchy correlates to a particular sign in the zodiac.
Seraphim - Gemini
Cherubim - Cancer
Thrones - Leo |
Dominions - Virgo
Virtues - Libra
Powers - Scorpio |
Principalities - Sagittarius
Archangels - Capricorn
Angels - Aquarius
